Kool G. Rap is one of the most unsung rappers ever. the patterns/cadences and vivid storytelling he brought to the "game" are still being utilized and built upon to great extent today by some of my favorite MCs. this is probably the first song i heard by him. not only do i absolutely love that sample (i was familiar with the original growing up...thanks, Dad!), but he paints a crystal clear picture with words with such rhythm and flair, it just sucks you in. and dude has a lisp! that's crazy! {(c) Brian Fellows} if you wanted to be respected as a top or innovative MC, this is one of the songs that let you know that merely rhyming the words at the end of a couplet wasn't gonna cut it anymore. this song blew my mind as a youngin'.
